Manage a device policy

A device policy controls what the
CylancePROTECT Desktop
,
CylanceOPTICS
, and
CylancePERSONA Desktop
agents do.
  1. In the management console, on the menu bar, click
    Policies > Device policy
    . Do any of the following:
    • To add or remove columns, click and select the columns that you want to view.
    • To sort device policies in ascending or descending order by a column, click the column.
    • To filter the device policies by a column, use the filter field and icon for the column.
  2. Do any of the following:

    Add a new device policy.
    Adding a device policy allows you to control what an agent does when it detects certain events. This allows you to create different device policies to meet the needs of different groups within their organization.
    1. Click
      Add new policy

    2. Enter a name for the device policy. This device policy name must be unique.
    3. Select device policy settings.
    4. Click
      Create
      .
    Edit a device policy.
    1. Click the device policy name.
    2. Update the device policy.
    3. Click
      Save
      .
    Copy a device policy.
    1. Click on the device policy name.
    2. Change the device policy name. This device policy name must be unique.
    3. Update the device policy, if needed.
    4. Click
      Save As
      .
    Select device policy settings.

    Manually assign a device policy to a device
    After you create a device policy, it can be manually assigned to a device.
    1. In the management console, on the menu bar, click
      Assets > Devices
      .
    2. Select the checkboxes for all devices to assign this device policy to.
    3. Click
      Assign policy
      .
    4. Select the device policy to assign.
    5. Click
      Save
      .
    Automatically assign a device policy using a zone rule
    Zones are used to group devices. You can create a zone rule to automatically add new devices to a zone. You can also assign a device policy to devices in a zone using a zone rule. See Add and configure a zone.
