The
Send new file
action, accessible from the Function Action Button
, allows you to send files securely from your computer. This action uploads a new file to BlackBerry Workspaces
and delivers it to others. Recipients receive a link to the file that they can access via BlackBerry Workspaces
.- Click and selectSend new file.
- Browse to and select the file(s) that you want to send, then clickOpen.
- ClickSettingsto modify the default permissions and collaboration settings configured by the organization administrator.Access to some file types cannot be controlled.
- Select theRequire recipients to sign incheck box if you want recipients to sign in before accessing the file.For more information on this feature, see About requiring recipient sign in.
- SelectRequire read acknowledgementto require read acknowledgement for the file.
- SelectEnable collaborationto enable your recipients to upload new versions of the file.
- If the permissions options are available, perform the following steps:
- In thePermissionlist, edit the permission for the selected file.For more information, see Permissions
- In theFile expirationlist, set the time when the file will no longer be accessible by the recipients. Select a specific date, a time period from the list, or never.If you selectSpecific date, click and select the date in the calendar.
- In theWatermarklist, set whether workspace .pdf files are displayed with a watermark.Watermarks are not displayed onMicrosoft Officeworkspace files, even when .pdf files are set to display them.
- In theCommentinglist, selectOnto enable recipients to comment on the file.
- In theAllow access tolist, select who can access the file:Recipients only;Anyone within recipients' domain; orEveryone.
- ClickDone.
- Enter the name, email address, or distribution list for each recipient.
- If desired, change the subject of the notification email.
- If desired, add a personal message.
- If you do not want to notify anyone that you are sending a file, clear theNotify recipientscheckbox. This is useful when you want to send yourself a file to continue working on it later.
- ClickAdd filesto include more files in the send. You can also add files by dragging and dropping them onto the panel.
- ClickSend.Your file(s) are sent, and can be accessed by you on theSent filespage. For more information, see View and manage sent items. The recipient receives a notification or email message with a link to the file.
