Show the touch screen keyboard when the slider is open

If your device has both a touch screen keyboard and a slider keyboard, you can keep the touch screen keyboard open while you type on the slider keyboard. This setting allows you to switch between keyboards easily and shows you the character key map for the slider keyboard when you are typing in another language.
  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen once using two fingers, or twice using one finger.
  2. Tap The Settings icon >
    Language & input
     >
    Current Keyboard
    .
  3. Turn on the
    Hardware
     switch.
