Text shortcuts

You can create shortcuts for frequently used phrases or information. When you type a shortcut, the phrase or info is inserted for you. For example, you could have the keyboard insert the phrase
Best wishes
when you type
bw
.
In some languages, helpful text shortcuts are available by default. For example, in English, you can type
mynumber
to insert your phone number, or
ld
to insert today's date. To see which shortcuts are available in your language, swipe down from the top of the screen once using two fingers, or twice using one finger. Tap The settings icon >
Language & input
. Tap
BlackBerry Keyboard Settings
or

>
BlackBerry Keyboard Settings
. Tap
Prediction and correction
>
Word substitution
, and tap a language.
