Typing in Vietnamese

The Vietnamese language has more characters in the alphabet than there are keys on the keyboard. As a result, more than one character appears on one key. There may be alternate letters that are related to a primary letter or that have a similar form. You can press and hold a letter or press the key again to access more characters.
The Vietnamese keyboard supports word prediction and the flick feature, which allows you to flick word suggestions up onto the screen (if you have this feature turned on). The Vietnamese keyboard also allows you to type alternate characters two different ways. You can press The shift key, and then press a letter, or you can press and hold the primary character and then select the alternate character from the options.
