Keyboard input methods
An input method allows you to type words or characters that are not
available using the characters on your keyboard layout. In some cases, input methods
give you a phonetic approximation of a word based on the keyboard layout you are using.
Your device can then suggest a character or diacritic based on the sound you choose.
In other cases, input methods provide you with gestures and key combinations for
languages. Some keyboard input methods are common to all supported languages, such as
word prediction or selecting accented characters by pressing and holding keys.
If your device has both a touch screen keyboard and a physical keyboard,
both keyboards support input methods. The keys on the touch screen keyboard display the
language's special characters. The keys on the physical keyboard map to special
characters, so if you press a latin alphabet key, a corresponding character appears.
If the input method for the language you want is not available on your
device, check
