Import an organizational hierarchy
You can create a new organizational hierarchy or update an existing one using an import CSV file. Include the hierarchical node in the Node Name column and the path in the Node Path column of the import file.
To modify an existing organizational hierarchy, follow the steps in Export an organizational hierarchy, save and update the downloaded CSV file, then import the updated organizational hierarchy.
- The import CSV file must have the two required columns Node Name and Node Path.
- Both required columns must contain a value. Empty cells in the CSV file will result in an error.
- The import process replaces the existing organizational hierarchy.
- Do not include double slashes (//) in the node path or node name.
- Do not include commas (,) in the node name.
- Do not include duplicate records in the import CSV file.
- The first level of each path should be the root node and represented as a forward slash (/).
- Up to 30 levels are allowed in one node path.
- Up to 500 nodes can be imported in a single import.
- Log in to theBlackBerry AtHocmanagement system as an administrator.
- In the navigation bar, clickUsers>User Attributes.
- On theUser Attributesscreen, find and click theOrganizational Hierarchyattribute.
- On theOrganizational Hierarchyscreen, in theValuessection, clickImport.
- Optionally, on theImport Organizational Hierarchyscreen, clickDownload Template CSV fileorView Instructions.
- On theImport Organizational Hierarchyscreen, clickBrowse, then browse to and select the CSV import file.
- ClickImport.
- When the import is complete, theImport Organizational Hierarchy resultswindow opens. ClickCloseorDownload Log.
- ClickSave.When you make changes to the organizational hierarchy, you must clickSaveto save your changes. If you navigate to another page, your changes are not saved. If you attempt to export the organizational hierarchy before saving, your changes are not exported.
