Enable network protection

To enable insecure network detection or insecure
Wi-Fi
access point detection, you must create and assign a
CylancePROTECT
profile to users.
  1. In the management console, on the menu bar, click
    Policies and profiles > Protection > CylancePROTECT
    .
  2. Create a new
    CylancePROTECT
    profile or select and edit an existing
    CylancePROTECT
    profile.
  3. To enable insecure
    Wi-Fi
    access point detection, do the following:
    • iOS
      : On the
      iOS
      tab, in the
      Insecure network detection
      section, select the
      Detect insecure Wi-Fi access point
      check box.
    • Android
      : On the
      Android
      tab, in the
      Insecure Wi-Fi network detection
      section, select the
      Detect insecure access point
      check box.
    Wi-Fi
    access points are classified in safe and unsafe lists. You can choose to move any of the available access points to the safe or unsafe list based on your organization's needs.
  4. To enable insecure network detection for
    iOS
    and
    Android
    devices, on the
    Android
    or
    iOS
    tab, in the
    Insecure network detection
    section, select the
    Enable insecure network detection
    check box.
  5. Click
    Save
    .
  • Assign the profile to users and groups.
  • Instruct users to allow location service permissions when prompted by the
    UEM Client
    or a
    BlackBerry Dynamics
    app. Instruct
    Android
    users to set the location access permission in the
    UEM Client
    to
    Allow all the time
    .
  • Optionally, create an event notification for when an insecure network or insecure
    Wi-Fi
    access point is detected.
  • Configure compliance actions to take when an insecure network or insecure
    Wi-Fi
    access point is detected.
