Use case: Detecting malicious URLs in SMS text messages on an iOS device
Michael Johnson uses his personal
iOSdevice for work, as part of a bring-your-own-phone policy. Michael receives a text message with a link from an unknown number.
UEMadministrator had previously enabled SMS message scanning on his device. The
CylancePROTECT Mobilelibrary in the
UEM Clienton Michael’s device performs a routine scan and detects the text message that contains the URL.
Because the text message is from an unknown number, the
UEM Clientsends the message to
CylanceINFINITYreturns a real-time assessment that the URL is malicious. The
UEM Clientfilters the text message to the SMS junk folder.
Michael goes into his junk folder and permanently deletes the message with the malicious URL from his device.
