Send a file by email from another app
Share files opened in third party applications securely via
BlackBerry
Workspaces
.- In the app that you are using to view the file, for example,Adobe Reader, tapShareand then tapWorkspaces.The Share file screen appears.
- TapSend a Copy.
- TapContinue.
- In theEnter name or emailsarea, do one of the following:
- To manually add recipient email addresses, enter the email addresses of the intended recipients.
- To select contacts from your device's contact list, tap
and select the contacts you want to share the file with.
- If theManage Permissionsoption is displayed, tap
in the
Permissionsarea and do any of the following to set rest of the desired permissions:- To require recipients to sign in to view the file, turn onRequire recipients to sign in
- To change the access permissions, tap
in the
Permissionsarea and select the desired access level. - To set a file expiration, when the file will no longer be accessible by the recipients, tap
in the
Expirationarea and select the desired time period. If you selectSpecific date, specify the date and time. - To set who can access the file, tap
in the
Allow access toarea and select the desired group:Recipients onlyAnyone within recipient's domain, orEveryone - To specify whether the file is displayed to recipients with a watermark, turn theWatermarkoption on or off.When watermarks are turned on and permissions are set toFull access, watermarks are displayed inWorkspacesviewers on all files. When permissions are set to any of theDownload protectedpermissions, and files are downloaded, watermarks only display on PDF files and do not display on Office files opened in their native applications. Watermarks are set according to organizational policy.
- To allow permitted users to post and to view comments in the file comments panel, turn on, turn onCommenting
- TurnAllow upload of new versionson to enable collaboration. See Collaborating on files for more details.
- Tap
to return to the Send file screen.
- In theSubjectarea, edit the email subject.
- In theAdd a personal messagebox, add a personal message.
- TapSend.The file is uploaded to theBlackBerryWorkspacesserver and an email containing a link to the file is sent. In theBlackBerryWorkspacesapp forAndroid, the file is located in yourSent Files.
