Server software and operating system requirements
In addition to core requirements for all
BEMSservices, the following prerequisites apply to the
Network Capabilities and Resources
- The computer that hostsBEMSmust be a domain member and have access to theMicrosoft Active Directory.
- Network shares must be accessible fromBEMS.
- Microsoft SharePointsites must be accessible fromBEMS.
Microsoft SQL Serverdatabase is required for a new installation of the
BlackBerry Docsservice. It is recommended that you name the database "BEMS_Docs". The installer extends the schema during the installation process.
If you install the
Docsservice on a separate computer, two
Microsoft SQL Serverdatabases are required. One for the
Docsservice and one for the
BlackBerry Push NotificationsIt is recommended that you name the databases "BEMS_Docs" and "BEMS_Core4".
Content Management Interoperability Services (CMIS) is an open standard that allows different content management systems to inter-operate over the Internet. The
Docsservice supports content management systems that support CMIS.
Consult your vendor documentation to determine whether your system is supported by CMIS and whether that support comes via AtomPub or Web Services. If both are supported, Atom Pub is recommended. You must have the binding URL for this support.
Microsoft Active Directoryusers are supported for CMIS. That is, the content management system must be connected to
Microsoft Active Directoryfor user authentication for
Docsservice to support it.
