Connect to a source server
To migrate data you must connect
BlackBerry UEM
to the source server. You can only have one active source server at a time.- Review the migration prerequisites and best practices and considerations.
- InUEMon-premises environments, verify that the database account associated with your login credentials has write permissions.
- InUEM Cloudenvironments, if more than oneBlackBerry Connectivity Nodeis activated, configure allBlackBerry Connectivity Nodeinstances to connect to the same source database.
- Follow the steps for your type ofUEMenvironment:EnvironmentStepsUEMon-premises
- In the management console, on the menu bar, clickSettings > Migration > Configuration.
- Click .
- In theSource typedrop-down list, click the appropriate type of source server.
- Specify the information for the source server.If you are migrating data from a sourceGood Controlserver, you only need to export and upload the certificate if it has not been replaced with a third-party certificate.UEMinherently trusts certificates from third-party providers.
- ClickTest connection.
- ClickSave.
UEM Cloud- In theBlackBerry Connectivity Nodemanagement console, on the menu bar, clickGeneral settings > Migration.
- Click .
- Specify the information for the source server.
- For theDatabase serverfield, use the format<host>\<instance>for a dynamic port and<host>:<port>for a static port.
- If you selectWindowsNT authentication, change the Log On properties of theBlackBerry UEM-BlackBerry Cloud Connectorservice to the same account you used to install the source server. After the migration is complete, change the Log On properties back to using the Local System account.
- ClickSave.
- In theUEMmanagement console, clickSettings > Migration > Configuration.
- Click .
- Type a name for the source database.
- ClickTest connection.
- ClickSave.
