Supported upgrade environments
When you upgrade to the latest version of
BlackBerry UEM
, you upgrade the management console and the database. The following are the supported upgrade paths:
- You can use the setup application to upgrade from up to two previous versions ofUEM. If you haveBES12version 12.6 or earlier, you must first upgrade all instances toUEMversion 12.8.1, synchronize the environment, then upgrade by twoUEMversions at a time to the latestUEMversion.
- If you haveGood Controlversion 4.0 and later andGood Proxyversion 4.0 and later, you must first upgrade all instances toUEMversion 12.8.1, synchronize the environment, then upgrade by twoUEMversions at a time to the latestUEMversion.
- You can installUEMand migrate policy sets, connectivity profiles, app groups, app usage (for certificates), and certificates fromGood Control(standalone) version 5.0 toUEM.
- You can migrate IT policies, profiles, groups, users, and devices fromBES10toUEMversion 12.9, then upgrade or migrate by two versions at a time to the latestUEMversion.

BlackBerry
Dynamics
applications on devices, connections to the application servers, including the mail server, will continue to supported. For example, the BlackBerry Work
application will continue to receive email during the upgrade. BlackBerry
Dynamics
applications cannot be activated during the upgrade. All servers in the environment must be upgraded before any BlackBerry
Dynamics
applications can be activated. Upgrade all servers in the environment within 24 hours of the first server upgrade.
