Manage password records

Add a record

  1. Tap The add icon, and then enter the information for the record.
  2. To change the type of record, tap
    Add password
    ,
    Add note
    , or
    Add list
    .
  3. To create a random password that is difficult to guess, tap
    Generate Password
    .
  4. To add a field to the record, tap The add field icon. Select any of the checkboxes, and then tap
    Add
    .
  5. To save the record, tap The save icon.
You can change the criteria for generating random passwords in the app settings.

Add or update a record using autofill

To use autofill, you must use the
BlackBerry Keyboard
 and autofill must be turned on in the
BlackBerry Password Keeper
 settings. To add or update a record from a website, you must use the
Google Chrome ™
 browser. Autofill is available only on
BlackBerry
 devices.
  1. On the login screen of an app or a website, type your username and password.
  2. At the top of the keyboard, tap The add icon. If you don't see this icon, to make it appear, touch and hold the
    Period
     key, and then tap The Password Keeper icon.
  3. If necessary, type your
    BlackBerry Password Keeper
     password, and then tap
    OK
    .
  4. Do one of the following:
    • To add a new password record, tap
      Add to Password Keeper
      .
    • To update login info for an existing password record, tap the record.
  5. To save the record, tap The save icon.

Edit a record

  1. Tap the record, and then tap The edit icon.
  2. Edit the information.
  3. To change the type of record, tap
    Edit password
    ,
    Edit note
    , or
    Edit list
    .
  4. To add a field to the record, tap The add field icon. Select any of the checkboxes, and then tap
    Add
    .
  5. To save the record, tap The save icon.
To remove an item from a list, swipe right or left on the item.

Delete a record

  1. Touch and hold a record, and then tap The delete icon.
  2. Tap
    Ok
    .
To delete multiple records, touch and hold a record. Tap each additional record, and then tap The delete icon >
Ok
.

Make a record a favorite

  1. Tap a record, and then tap The favorite icon.
To add multiple records as favorites, touch and hold a record. Tap each additional record, and then tap the more actions menu >
Add to favourites
.

Sort your records

  1. Tap The menu icon, and then tap the type of records that you want to see.

Search your records

  1. Tap The search icon, and then enter a search term.
If your device has a physical keyboard, you can start typing a search term without tapping The search icon.

See the password history for a record

You can see the previous passwords for a record and how long you used each password.
  1. Tap a record, and then tap The password history icon.
  2. To see the passwords, tap The hide icon.
