Create a Windows Server firewall exclusion rule
If the Windows Server firewall is turned on, you must create a firewall inbound exclusion rule or turn off the firewall.
- OpenServer Manager.
- SelectWindows Firewall with Advanced Securityunder Configuration.
- ClickInbound Rulesin the working area.
- ClickNew Rule.
- SelectPortfor the rule type.
- Enter the port number. The default port is 1433 unless you are using an instance. If you are using an instance, find the port using Configuration Manager.
- SelectAllow Connection.
- ClickApply to all.
- Provide a name for the rule (for example, SQL Server Connection).
- ClickFinish.
