with MDM options enabled activation type, send the following activation instructions to device users.
During activation, users must leave the
BlackBerry UEM Client
to manually install the MDM profile.If Lockdown Mode is enabled on your device (
iOS
and iPadOS
16 or later), you must disable it to activate the device. Lockdown Mode prevents the installation of configuration profiles which are required for activation. If necessary, you can enable Lockdown Mode after activation.- On your device, install theUEM Clientfrom theApp Store.
- Open theUEM Clientand accept the license agreement.
- Do one of the following:TaskStepsScan aQR Codeto activate the device.
- Tap .
- To allow theUEM Clientto take pictures and record video, tapAllow.
- Scan theQR Codein the activation email that you received.
Manually activate the device.- Type your work email address and activation password.
- If necessary, type the server address. You can find the server address in the activation email that you received or inBlackBerry UEM Self-Service.
- TapNext.
- To allow theUEM Clientto send you notifications, tapAllow. ChoosingDon't Allowwill prevent the device from activating.
- When you are prompted to install a configuration profile, tapOK.
- When you are prompted to download the configuration profile, tapAllow.
- After the download is complete, openSettings.
- TapGeneraland navigate toVPN & Device Management.
- To install the profile, tapBlackBerry UEM Profileand follow the instructions on the screen.
- After the installation is complete, to complete the activation, return to theUEM Client.
- If you are prompted to install work apps on your device, follow the instructions on the screen.
To verify that the activation process completed successfully, perform one of the following actions:
- On the device, open theUEM Clientand tapAbout. In theActivated DeviceandCompliance Statussections, verify that the device information and the activation time stamp are present.
- InBlackBerry UEM Self-Service, verify that your device is listed as an activated device. It can take up to two minutes for the status to update after you activate the device.
