Specify the default persistent chat category for users
The
BlackBerry Connect
app allows users to create group discussions without specifying a category. To enable this feature, you must specify the Persistent Chat Default Category in the BEMS
Dashboard. - Verify that persistent chat is enabled in yourSkype for Business2015 environment. For instructions, see yourMicrosoft Lync ServerorSkype for Businessdocumentation.
- Verify that a category has been created on theSkype for Business2015 Server. For instructions, see Create a persistent chat category.
If you make changes to the
BlackBerry Connect
service on the BEMS
dashboard, you must first stop the Good Technology Connect
service, make the changes, and then start the Good Technology Connect
service for the changes to take effect.- In theBlackBerry Enterprise Mobility Server Dashboard, underBlackBerry Services Configuration, clickConnect.
- ClickService Accountand type the login credentials for theBEMSservice account.
- ClickSave.
- ClickSkype for Business.
- In thePersistent Chat Default Categoryfield, type the name of the persistent chat category that you created on the instant messaging server.
