Configure the web proxy for the Connect service
Connect
serviceComplete this task if your organization uses a web proxy server to connect to the Internet. It is recommended to use the same web proxy server in the
Connect
component as in the BEMS-Core
component. When you configure the web proxy, the BEMS
Connect
configuration file (GoodConnectServer.exe.config) updates the GD_APN_PROXY_HTTP_HOST and GD_APN_PROXY_HTTP_PORT parameters. For more information about the BEMS

configuration file, see Understanding the BEMS-Connect configuration file. - In theBlackBerry Enterprise Mobility Server Dashboard, underBlackBerry Services Configuration, clickConnect.
- If necessary, clickService Accountand enter theBEMSservice account credentials.
- ClickWeb Proxy.
- Select theUse Web Proxycheckbox.
- Type the proxy web address and port number.
- In theProxy Authentication Typedrop-down list, select one of the following authentication types:
- Basicauthentication requires a user name and password by theConnectservice to authenticate a request.
- Digestauthentication is more secure because it applies a hash function to the password before sending it over the network.
- None, if no authentication is required.
If you specify an authentication type, theConnectservice username and password are automatically populated based on theWindowsdomain service account you assigned to theConnectservice under ConfiguringWindowsServices. - Optionally, specify a domain.
- Optionally, clickTestto verify the connection to the web proxy.
- ClickSave.
