Removing the BlackBerry UEM software

You can use the uninstall application to remove the BlackBerry UEM software from a server. The uninstall application can also remove the log files for the existing installation.

The uninstall application removes the software from the local server, but it does not do the following:
  • Remove the UEM server from the UEM database.
  • Remove the database instance that hosts the UEM database.
  • Remove the UEM database.
  • Deregister the components from the BlackBerry Dynamics NOC.
  • Remove the BlackBerry Proxy instance from the BEMS BlackBerry Dynamics configuration.
Note: If your environment is running an on-premises BEMS instance, verify that the UEM that is being decommissioned is not listed in the BEMS Dashboard > BlackBerry Dynamics configuration screen. If the UEM instance is listed and it is used by BEMS as the primary BlackBerry Proxy server, you must specify another BlackBerry Proxy server or users cannot access the BEMS-Docs repositories and will eventually stop receiving new email notifications. To verify if the UEM instance is listed, see Configure the BlackBerry Dynamics server in BEMS in the Configuring BEMS-Core content.

Before you reinstall the UEM software, you must remove the UEM instance from the management console. When you remove a UEM instance from the management console, the BlackBerry Proxy instances are deregistered from the BlackBerry Dynamics NOC. This is a necessary step for decommissioning.

If the UEM instance is connected to your Google Cloud or Google Workspace domain, you must remove the Google domain connection before you uninstall UEM.
