Creating email profiles

You can use email profiles to specify how devices connect to your organization's mail server and synchronize email messages, calendar entries, and organizer data using Exchange ActiveSync or HCL Traveler.

You don't need to use an email profile if your organization uses BlackBerry Work to manage email, calendar, and contacts for users devices. For more information about managing BlackBerry Work, see Managing apps and the BlackBerry Work, Notes, and Tasks Administration Guide.

Note: For Android devices, instead of using an email profile, use an app configuration in UEM to configure app-based email applications.
If you want to use Exchange ActiveSync, note the following:

If you want to use Notes Traveler, note that to use it with iOS devices, you must enable the BlackBerry Secure Gateway.

You can also use IMAP/POP3 email profiles to specify how iOS, macOS, Android, and Windows devices connect to IMAP or POP3 mail servers and synchronize email messages. Devices activated to use Knox MDM do not support IMAP or POP3.

You can configure an email profile to enable iOS devices to use BlackBerry Secure Connect Plus as the per-account VPN for email data connections. This is an alternative to associating per-account VPN profiles and provides the added benefit of leveraging BlackBerry’s secure connectivity infrastructure. This option is turned off by default in email profiles. When enabled, the device will use the configuration of its assigned enterprise connectivity profile for the relevant secure connections (the default enterprise connectivity profile is assigned if no other enterprise connectivity profile was assigned previously). The enterprise connectivity profile that is assigned at the user level will be used for the per-account VPN, and will take precedence over any enterprise connectivity profiles assigned at the app level. If device-wide VPN is enabled in the enterprise connectivity profile that is assigned to a user, the "Enable Blackberry Secure Connectivity as the per-account VPN" setting has no effect.
