Install and configure the BEMS-Connect cluster
BEMS-Connect
clusterDisaster recovery is not supported for
BlackBerry Connect
using Cisco Jabber
because BEMS
only stores one set of global configurations. Before adding a
BEMS-Connect
instance for disaster recovery, complete the following actions:
- If your environment has separate Front End Pools or additional Trusted Application Pools, make sure that you add the correct permissions. Note:BEMS-PresenceandBEMS-Connectcan use the same Trusted Application Pool for disaster recovery.
- Make sure that the appropriate network ports are open to allow theBEMS-Connectservers within your secondary site to communicate with the database,Skype for BusinessServer orMicrosoft Lync Server,Microsoft Lync ServerorSkype for Businessdatabase, andBlackBerry Proxyservers in your secondary and primary site.
- InstallBEMSon eachBEMS-Connectserver at the primary site. Select theConnectoption in each case. Use a new database to create a new cluster that is dedicated toBlackBerry Connect.
- InstallBEMSon eachBEMS-Connectserver at the secondary site. Select theConnectoption in each case. Add the servers to the same database that you used in step 1.
- At the primary site, complete the following tasks:
- In theBEMSdashboard for theBEMS-Connect(BlackBerryServices Configuration > Connect > BlackBerry Dynamics), add theBlackBerry Proxyfor the primary site. Repeat this step for eachBEMS-Connectinstance in the primary site.
- In theBEMSdashboard (BEMSSystem Settings >BlackBerryConfiguration >BlackBerry Dynamics), configure one or moreBlackBerry Proxyservers from one or more clusters in the primary site. This list is used only for startup. Clear the 'Apply to other nodes in this BEMS cluster' check box. Repeat this step for eachBEMS-Connectinstance in the primary site.
- At the secondary site, complete the following tasks:
- In theBEMSdashboard for theBEMS-Connect(BlackBerryServices Configuration > Connect > BlackBerry Dynamics), add theBlackBerry Proxyfor the secondary site. Repeat this step for eachBEMS-Connectinstance in the secondary site.
- In theBEMSdashboard (BEMSSystem Settings >BlackBerryConfiguration >BlackBerry Dynamics), configure one or moreBlackBerry Proxyservers from one or more clusters in the secondary site. This list is used only for startup. Clear the 'Apply to other nodes in this BEMS cluster' check box. Repeat this step for eachBEMS-Connectinstance in the secondary site.
- Configure the appropriate instant messaging (for example,Skype for Business) andActive Directorysettings (for example, theLyncfront-end pool).
- Stop the services on the servers at the secondary site.
- In theBlackBerry UEMmanagement console, in the DefaultBlackBerry Dynamicsconnectivity profile, do the following. Depending on your environment configuration, additional server-side services might be required. For more information aboutBEMSservices and server-side bindings, see the Additional information.
- UnderApp servers for BlackBerry Connect, for each of theBEMS-Connectservers at the primary site, set thePriorityto PRIMARY and set thePrimary BlackBerry Proxy clusterto BPCluster1.
- UnderApp servers for BlackBerry Connect, for each of theBEMS-Connectservers at the secondary site, set thePriorityto SECONDARY or TERTIARY and set thePrimary BlackBerry Proxy clusterto BPCluster2.
