Sizing requirements

Each deployment option has specific sizing recommendations based on server storage, memory, and the number of processors. Use the following sizing recommendations for server planning:
  • Basic deployments: up to 500 users
  • Advanced deployments: more than 500 users

For deployments with more than 10,000 users, BlackBerry recommends 1 application server for every 10,000 users. For example, a deployment of 30,000 users requires 4 application servers (1 base + 3 additional servers for 30,000 users).

If you're using VMware to virtualize Windows Secure Documents servers, verify that the vSphere Web Client socket count matches the vCPU values in the following tables. For more information, see the VMware Knowledge Base article 1010184.

The following tables list the sizing recommendations for deploying BlackBerry Workspaces Server.
