Delete an email

When you delete an email, it is moved to the Deleted items folder. It is not permanently deleted.
  1. Complete one of the following tasks:

    Task

    Steps

    Delete an open message.

    Tap The Delete icon.

    Delete a message in the message list.

    Swipe the message left or right and tap The Delete icon.

    Delete multiple messages in the message list.

    1. Press and hold the first message to enable multi-select. If avatars are present, the avatar changes to a checkmark and the message is highlighted. If avatars are not present, the message is highlighted. Select additional messages.
    2. Tap The Delete icon.
  2. To permanently delete items, do the following:
    1. To view the Trash folder, tap The Navigation drawer icon > Trash.
    2. Select the items that you want to delete permanently.
    3. Tap The Delete icon > Delete.
