What's New in the BlackBerry UEM Client for Android 12.54.0.158517
- Branding updates: The BlackBerry UEM Client UI has been updated to use the latest UEM product icons and branding colors.
- Support for constrained satellite networks: The UEM Client is now supported for use on carrier-constrained satellite networks.
- Improvements to certificate validation and FIPS compliance: The "Enable FIPS" option in BlackBerry Dynamics profiles used a different default setting depending on the UEM version:
- 12.20 and earlier: off by default in new profiles
- 12.21 to 12.23 QF6: on by default in new profiles
- 12.23 QF7 and later: off by default in new profiles
Depending on when new BlackBerry Dynamics profiles were created and assigned, the default setting might have carried forward through UEM upgrades. The latest UEM Client and BlackBerry Dynamics apps use an updated BlackBerry Dynamics SDK. This version includes improvements to certificate validation to ensure consistent adherence to FIPS standards when "Enable FIPS" is turned on.
When configuring PKI implementations (Intercede profile, user credential profile configured for Entrust or Purebred, BlackBerry Dynamics PKI connector), verify that "Enable FIPS" is turned on or off as required for your organization's security standards. If it is turned on, verify that the required certificates are FIPS-compliant.

What's New in the BlackBerry UEM Client for Android 12.46.1.158372
- "Show" option for activation password: When users enter an activation password, they can now select an option to display the text that they enter.
- Changes to conditional access enrollment: If you configure Entra ID conditional access and you assign an Intercede user credential profile to users before they activate, when a user activates a device, they must complete Intercede enrollment before they are prompted to register with Entra conditional access.
- Enhancements to device details and device reports: This release of the UEM Client sends additional information to UEM:
- Device serial numbers, the date and time work apps were installed, and a list of Bluetooth-paired devices are now displayed in the device details in the management console. Note that device serial numbers are not returned for devices with user privacy activation types, and the date and time of app installation is not returned for personal apps.
- Device serial numbers, a list of Bluetooth-paired devices, and multi-SIM information is now included in device reports that you can generate from the management console. Note that device serial numbers and IMEI and ICCID information are not returned for devices with user privacy activation types.
- View device password expiry dates in the management console: The UEM Client now sends device password and work profile password expiry information for Android Enterprise and Android Management devices to UEM. The password expiry dates are listed in the device details in the management console. If a password expiry date has already passed, a warning icon displays next to it in the device details.
- Enhancement for app lock mode profiles: This release of the UEM Client supports a new option in the Android Enterprise device settings section of app lock mode profiles: “Prevent activity from apps that are not on the allowed list”. When enabled, any activities that are initiated by apps that are not allowed by the App lock profile (for example, a pop-up to install a different app) will be blocked. Activities from system apps are not blocked.
- Support for 16 KB page sizes: Android has announced that, starting November 1, 2025, all new and updated apps targeting Android 15 and later must support 16 KB page sizes. For more information, see Android Developers: Support 16 KB page sizes and Android Developers Blog: Get your apps ready for 16 KB page size devices.
This release of the UEM Client is compatible with the 16 KB page size requirement, and also adds support for various software libraries (for example, SCEP, Intune, Entrust, and Intercede) that support 16 KB page sizes.
Note: If you have configured your UEM environment to support conditional access for Android devices, and 16 KB page sizes are enabled on devices, this version of the UEM Client must be used with the updated version of the Microsoft Authenticator app that supports 16 KB page sizes.
