Customization

The Customization section in General Settings enables you to update your home page with welcome text, provide users with organization administrator contact information, adjust the locale settings for your organization, specify phone call settings, add a logo for your desktop app, customize the name on Self Service pages, add disclaimer messages for Self Service or the mobile app, and specify the layout of user profile and dependent pages.

Text

  1. In the Homepage Welcome Message field, enter text that will appear at the top of the Welcome screen.
  2. In the Footer Text field, enter text that will appear on the bottom left of every screen.
    Note: This text can be a disclaimer, if one is required, or any information that all users need to see.
  3. Click Save.

Organization Contact Info

  1. In the Name field, enter the name of an organization administrator or help desk alias that users can contact for help with password or username issues when accessing BlackBerry AtHoc.
  2. In the Email field, enter the email address of the organization administrator or help desk.
  3. In the Phone field, enter the contact phone number.

When this section is configured, this information is displayed in the following locations:

  • The BlackBerry AtHoc management system homepage at the bottom of the Welcome Message.
  • The bottom of the Self Service login page.
  • The forgot user name recovery pages for the management system and mobile app.
  • The forgot password recovery pages for the management system and mobile app.

Locale Setting

The Locale pull-down is not configurable on this page. The Locale setting for an organization is configured when the organization is first created and cannot be changed.

  1. From the Date Format pull-down list, select the date format.
  2. From the Time Format pull-down list, select the time format.
  3. From the Delivery Locales pull-down list, select the supported delivery locales. Once enabled, support for a delivery locale cannot be disabled.
  4. From the Time Zone pull-down list, select the time zone.

Phone Call Setting

  1. In the Caller ID field, enter the number you want to display on the mobile devices of alert recipients when an alert is published to them. You can enter up to 15 digits and special characters such as +.
  2. In the Default Country Code field, select the country code that will be displayed by default whenever users enter a phone number into a field.
  3. Optionally, in the GETS field, enter the Government Emergency Telecommunications Service (GETS) PIN number.
  4. Click Save.

Desktop App

  1. In the Desktop App Logo field, click Browse to upload the graphic file you want to display in the desktop app. The file must be a .gif, .jpg, or .png file type. The recommended size is 140 pixels wide by 70 pixels high.
  2. Click Save.

Self Service

  1. In the Name on User Pages field, enter your organization name.
  2. Optionally, include an organization-specific disclaimer message to display to users when they log in to Self Service. The maximum size of the message is 4000 characters.
  3. (For suborganizations only.) Optionally, select the Organization Subscription for End Users option to enable users to subscribe themselves to this organization in Self Service. This option is enabled by default.
  4. (For suborganizations only.) Optionally, select the User Move for End Users option to enable users to move themselves to this organization in Self Service. This option is enabled by default.
  5. Optionally, select the Show Consent option to display a banner on the My Profile page in Self Service. This banner informs users how their contact information is used by your organization and BlackBerry AtHoc. When this option is enabled, users must click Save or Submit to acknowledge the disclaimer before continuing.
  6. Click Save.

Mobile App

  1. Select the Yes option beside Show Disclaimer to provide a disclaimer that informs end users that, when they use the mobile app, their data is being shared with their organization.
  2. In the Mobile Application Disclaimer Message field that appears, enter a maximum of 300 characters for a disclaimer message about your organization's privacy policy and data management practices. When text is entered in this field, a pop-up message is displayed to end users during the registration process on the mobile app. End users must acknowledge the disclaimer message before they can use the mobile app for the first time.
  3. Click Save.
