Event rules for incoming alerts
When a mobile user sends a field report, they can choose from a list of report types. These field report types can trigger an alert template. The Event Rules tab displays information about incoming alert types and any associated alert templates associated.
Event rule icons and titles for Emergency, Checked In, and Checked Out alert types are preset and cannot be changed. Event rule icons and titles for Report alert types are configurable and can be edited by any authorized user.
- Click New or click an event rule to configure it.
- On the Event Rule details screen, add or select values in the following fields:
- Title: Enter a descriptive label that identifies the field report.
- Message: Optionally, enter the default message you want to appear in the message field. This text can be edited by end users prior to them sending the field report.
- Icon: Select the icon you want to use to represent the field report on maps, in the Inbox, and in email and desktop alerts when the field report triggers an alert template. The same icon appears on the Live Map in Live Incoming Alerts for the field report and in Live Sent Alerts for the published alert.
- Default Severity: Select the default severity for an alert type. Severity options include High, Moderate, Low, Informational, and Unknown. End users can change the severity prior to sending a report.
- Run Alert Template: Select an alert template to be published when a user sends a field report or emergency, or performs a check-in or check-out. Only alert templates that are ready to be published are displayed. Select None not run an alert template.
- Click Save.
- Optionally, repeat steps 1 through 3 to add additional report types that end users can access when preparing to send an event report.
