Prerequisites

Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 (with one license for each server). Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 is not supported. You can download Red Hat server images from https://access.redhat.com/downloads.

    Before updating the OS (yum update), verify that you follow best practices for backing up, testing, and upgrading server environments to ensure business continuity.

  • Access this machine using a root account or an account with sudo privileges.
  • Each server requires a static IP address or DHCP reservation.
  • Rename the primary NIC on each server to eth0.
  • Ensure the SSH service is available and running.
  • Disable SELinux or set it to permissive mode on each server.
  • Install Python3 and the required packages.

Windows Secure Documents
  • Windows Server 2019, 2022, or 2025 (64-bit) (with one license for each server).
  • Access this machine using a local administrator account.
  • Each server requires a static IP address or DHCP reservation.

Group policy considerations

When you join Windows Secure Documents servers to a domain, conflicts might occur between BlackBerry Workspaces Server policies and your organization's group policies. For more information, contact your BlackBerry Professional Services representative.
