Supported Load Balancer affinity using Microsoft Exchange
Server 2010
Microsoft Exchange
Server
2010If your environment uses
Microsoft Exchange
Server
2010 to
connect to BEMS
, you can
configure the Load Balancer to use Cookie-based or Source IP-based affinity. Configuring affinity provides the ability for the load balancer to maintain a
connection between the
BEMS
instance and the specific Microsoft Exchange
Server
node
that BEMS
is connected to.
Configuring affinity in your Microsoft Exchange
Server
2010
environment is important because in the Microsoft Exchange
Server
2010,
the Microsoft Exchange Web
Services
(EWS) subscriptions reside on the client access server (CAS). CAS nodes are usually referenced
using a logical array name. When BEMS
makes a request to the CAS, it makes a request for the user and the CAS
returns the subscription that references that request for the user. You must make sure that the
CAS that BEMS
makes the EWS
subscription request to is the same CAS that BEMS
connects to with the subscription. BEMS
batches the subscription
requests and submits the batch request to the CAS. For more information about configuring
affinity on the Load Balancer, refer to your Load Balancer documentation.
