Install the Amazon agent manually

  • Download the
    CylancePROTECT Desktop
    installation files from the management console. Go to
    Settings > Deployments
    , select the
    CylancePROTECT
    product, the target operating system, the agent version, and the file type. Click
    Download
    .
  • Get the installation token from the management console. Go to
    Settings > Application
    .
  • Root permission is required to install the
    Linux
    agent.
  1. Run the following yum command to install dependencies:
    yum install zlib glibc dbus-libs libgcc sqlite
  2. Create a configuration text file before installing the RPM. For more information, see Create a configuration file.
  3. Capture the Amazon EC2 Instance ID. The
    CylancePROTECT Desktop
    agent can be configured to capture Amazon’s Instance ID and concatenate it to the Device Name field. When creating the configuration file, add AWS=1 as a line item to the text file.
  4. For 1590 or higher, use the following command to install the Linux open driver:
    rpm -ivh CylancePROTECTOpenDriver-version.rpm
    For 1590 or higher, the agent and the drivers are included in a .tgz file. Extract the open driver from the .tgz file and install it.
  5. For 1590 or higher, use the following command to install the Linux agent driver:
    rpm -ivh CylancePROTECTDriver-version.rpm
    For 1590 or higher, the agent and the drivers are included in a .tgz file. Extract the agent driver from the .tgz file and install it.
  6. Install the .rpm:
    rpm -ivh CylancePROTECT.rpm
  7. Install the script. The install script 'install.sh' can be used to install the .rpm. The script will prompt the user to enter the token and generate a config_defaults.txt file if one doesn't exist.
