Install the RHEL/CentOS agent automatically

The agent can be installed simply, along with the dependencies, using the yum command on RHEL/CentOS 7.x (
CylancePROTECT Desktop
agent 1460 or later) or on RHEL/CentOS 8. This also installs the dependencies. For Ubuntu operating systems, or RHEL/CentOS agent 1450 and lower, you must install the dependencies first, then the product. See Install the RHEL/CentOS agent manually or Install the Ubuntu agent manually for more information.
  • Download the
    CylancePROTECT Desktop
    installation files from the management console. Go to
    Settings > Deployments
    , select the
    CylancePROTECT
    product, the target operating system, the agent version, and the file type. Click
    Download
    .
  • Get the installation token from the management console. Go to
    Settings > Application
    .
  • Root permission is required to install the
    Linux
    agent.
  1. Create the following file before you install the RPM:
    /opt/cylance/config_defaults.txt
    For more information, see Create a configuration file
  2. For RHEL/CentOS 6, use the following command:
    yum install bzip2 dbus dbus-libs
    For all other versions, you must install the dependencies independently first.
  3. For agent version 1590 or later, use the following command to install the open driver and agent driver.
    yum install CylancePROTECTOpenDriver-version.rpm CylancePROTECTDriver-version.rpm
    For agent version 1590 or later, the agent, agent UI, and the drivers are included in a .tgz file. Extract the drivers from the .tgz file and install them.
  4. Use the following command to install the product:
    yum install CylancePROTECT.version.rpm CylancePROTECTUI.version.rpm
    For agent version 1590 or later, the agent, agent UI, and the drivers are included in a .tgz file. Extract the agent and agentUI from the .tgz file and install them.
