Grant application impersonation permission using Exchange Administration Center

  1. Depending on your environment, sign in to one of the following consoles: 
    Console
    Steps
    Microsoft Office 365
     Exchange Administration Center console
    1. Click the App Launcher icon in the top left hand corner. 
    2. Click 
      Admin
      .
    3. In the 
      Microsoft 365 admin center
       console menu, click 
      Show all
    4. In the 
      Admin centers
       section, click 
      All admin centers
      .
    5. Click 
      Exchange
      .
    On-premises 
    Microsoft Exchange
      Administration Center web console
    1. Open a browser open 
      https://<
      url_to_on-premises_client_access_server
      >/ecp
       and sign in with a valid account. 
  2. Click 
    permissions
    .
  3. Click  The Add icon .
  4. Type a name and description for the role group.
  5. In the 
    Roles
     section, click  The Add icon . Click 
    ApplicationImpersonation > add > OK
    .  
  6. In the 
    Members
     section, click  The Add icon . Click an account to add and then click 
    add > OK
    .
