Manage contacts

Every time you open BlackBerry Work, your contacts are synchronized with your work email account. In BlackBerry Work, you can also add contacts, edit a contact's information, add contacts to the VIP list, or delete contacts.

Add a contact from an email

  1. In an open email, tap the sender's photo or avatar in the address block that you want to add to your Contacts list.
  2. Tap Add contact icon.
  3. Type the required contact information.
  4. Tap Save.

Add a contact manually

  1. Tap Launcher icon > Contacts.
  2. Tap Add contact icon > Contact.
  3. Type the contact's information.
  4. Tap Save.

Edit a contact

  1. On the All Contacts screen, tap the contact that you want to edit.
  2. Tap Edit icon.
  3. Make the desired changes.
  4. Tap Save.

View contact information

You can view a contact's profile, including your email correspondence history, by tapping the contact's email address in the following locations:
  • A received email
  • A calendar event
  • The Contact's list

Designate a contact as a VIP

VIPs are contacts that you designate for priority handling. When you enable VIP notifications, you can set notification sounds, enable vibration, or both when you receive a message from a VIP contact. This works even when email notifications are disabled.

  1. On the All Contacts screen, tap the contact that you want to designate as a VIP.
  2. Tap Menu icon > Make VIP. To remove the designation, tap Remove VIP.

Add a shared contact

If you've been added as a delegate to a Microsoft Exchange mailbox, you can access all shared contacts from that mailbox in BlackBerry Work. When you create emails or events, shared contacts appear in the autocomplete field. You can add up to four shared contact accounts.

  1. Tap Launcher icon > Settings icon.
  2. Tap Contacts > Shared Contacts.
  3. Tap Add icon.
  4. In the Search Account field, type the email address of the shared contact account that you want to add.
  5. Tap Check Permissions.
  6. Optionally, tap Color to change the color associated with the shared contact account.

To view the shared contacts, in the message list, tap Hamburger icon . Shared contacts are marked with Arrow left arrow right icon.
