Allow playback of explicit music, podcasts, and iTunes U media (supervised only) |
Specify whether explicit music or video content purchased from the iTunes Store or listed in iTunes U is available on an iOS device. Explicit content is flagged by content providers, such as record labels, when sold through the iTunes Store or distributed through iTunes U. If this rule is not selected, explicit music or video content on the device is hidden and users can't preview, purchase, or download explicit music or video content. This rule is deprecated for unsupervised devices. |

Allowed content ratings for movies |
Specify the maximum allowed rating for movies that users can download from the iTunes Store. Use this rule to block access to new and existing movies that exceed a maximum rating. If set to "Don't allow movies," all movies purchased from the iTunes Store are hidden and users can't preview, purchase, or download movies. If set to something other than "Don't allow movies," the "Allow use of iTunes Store" rule must also be selected to allow users to download content. The "Ratings region" rule determines which ratings system is used. Depends on: Ratings region |

Allowed content ratings for apps |
The maximum level of app content allowed on the device. Preinstalled (first-party) apps ignore this restriction. Age bands and the number of discrete age values vary by region, but the values are consistent across regions. For example, in a region that defines rating level 14+, its value is guaranteed to be larger than 300 (12+) and smaller than 600 (17+). Also, the value of rating level 15+ is guaranteed to be larger than the assigned value of rating level 14+. For more information about age ratings, see App Store: Age ratings values and definitions. The tool tip for the rule provides several example values for other regions. Depends on: Ratings region |

Apps Exempted from Rating Restrictions | If present, the system exempts apps with bundle IDs in the array from age-based rating restrictions. The system uses intersection combine rules to combine multiple payloads and any exceptions that parental control apps provide, including ScreenTime. | MDM controls |
