Allow or block file transfer to non-BlackBerry Dynamics apps

The BlackBerry Dynamics SDK for iOS 15.0 adds support for a new BlackBerry Dynamics profile setting, "Open files unencrypted in other selected non-Dynamics apps". Your organization can use this feature to allow or block the transfer and opening of files in specified apps with the iOS "Open In" feature. A UEM administrator can configure the setting in the assigned profile to allow or block file transfer, and can specify the bundle IDs of the iOS apps to allow or block.

  1. Present the UIDocumentController with a document from the secure file system or the native file system.
  2. Allow the BlackBerry Dynamics SDK for iOS to handle UIDocumentControllerDelegate instead of assigning it to any classes in the app.
  3. Turn off any swizzled methods that you have implemented to handle native "Open In" share sheets.
  4. For any UIActivity items in your app, the activityType of the app extension must contain the bundle id of the entire app. It is a best practice to provide the activityType in the required UIActivity:activityType method. For example:
    (NSString *)activityType {
        return [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@.%@",[[NSBundle mainBundle] bundleIdentifier], @"savepdf"];
    }
  5. Coordinate with your UEM administrator to configure "Open files unencrypted in other selected non-Dynamics apps" as desired in the assigned BlackBerry Dynamics profile, and to add the appropriate bundle IDs to "Open in selected apps". The following are example bundle IDs for common file transfer apps or features:
