Requirements and prerequisites for Android platform features
Note the following requirements or considerations to support features of the Android OS platform in your BlackBerry Dynamics apps.

The SDK supports the Android APIs that were formerly part of Android for Work and Samsung Knox. No extra programming work is required for Android for Work or Samsung Knox to interoperate with the BlackBerry Dynamics SDK for Android. |

Support for spannable text |
The BlackBerry Dynamics SDK for Android supports copying and pasting Spannable text. The following Span objects are supported:

Private space |
Android OS 15 and later includes the new Private space feature. BlackBerry Dynamics apps that are installed in the Private space cannot communicate with BlackBerry Dynamics apps outside of the Private space, and cannot communicate for Easy Activation, authentication delegation, AppKinetics file transfer, or Inter-Container Communication. |

Google Gemini |
Using Google Gemini within BlackBerry Dynamics apps can result in data leakage to Google. Use the data leakage prevention options available in BlackBerry Dynamics profiles to prevent Google Gemini from copying content from BlackBerry Dynamics apps. |

Support for 16 KB page sizes |
Android has announced that, starting November 1, 2025, all new and updated apps targeting Android 15 and later must support 16 KB page sizes. For more information, see Android Developers: Support 16 KB page sizes and Android Developers Bog: Get your apps ready for 16 KB page size devices. The BlackBerry Dynamics SDK for Android version 13.2 and later is compatible with the 16 KB page size requirement. It is recommended that you run a mock submission of custom BlackBerry Dynamics apps to Google Play to identify any additional dependencies that you need to resolve to meet the 16 KB page size requirement. |
