Preinstallation checklist

Review this checklist and record the following items before installing the BlackBerry Workspaces Server:

Setting

Network settings
  • Main RHEL IP
  • Conversion Windows IP
  • Network Mask
  • Gateway
  • DNS1
  • DNS2

Hosting organization name and email address of the hosting service administrator
  • Hosting organization name
  • Administrator email address

Server URL

Server URL FQDN

Obtain proper SSL certificates for your domain.

Time-zone

Specify the time zone in which the servers are located.

NTP servers

NTP server IP address or Hostname

SMTP servers
  • Server IP
  • Port (default is port 25)
  • User (optional)
  • Password (optional)

Storage space

Specify the amount of server storage space to dedicate to user documents. Plan for 20% overhead for database storage. For example: If you dedicate 500 GB for document storage, plan an additional 100 GB for database storage.

SSL certificate

Have you obtained SSL certificates from a trusted certificate authority? (Yes, No)

Third-party licensing

Verify that you have the required licenses for the supported Microsoft servers in your environment (for example, Windows Server 2019, 2022, or 2025).
