Downloads

Supported OS

Description

Secure download mode

Windows

This setting specifies whether downloaded files are saved in the BlackBerry Dynamics secure container or on the users' computer (for example, in the Downloads folder).

If you select "Enabled for Specific Domains", in the "Secure download domains" field, type the domains for which downloads are saved in the BlackBerry Dynamics secure container. If domains are not specified, files can be downloaded to locations on the Windows computer.

If this setting is disabled, the File Manager option is not displayed in the BlackBerry Access Secure Enterprise Browser. If you enable this feature and turn it off later, users can't access the files they previously downloaded to the secure container.

This setting lists the domains for which downloads are saved to the BlackBerry Dynamics secure container.

Depends on: Secure download mode set to Enabled for Specific Domains

Secure upload mode

Windows

This setting specifies whether users can only upload files from the BlackBerry Access secure downloads (Menu icon > Downloads). Extensions

Setting

Supported OS

Description

Enable installation of extensions

Windows

This setting specifies whether to allow websites to download extensions for third-party apps.

If selected, in the "Permitted Extension Ids" field, specify one or more extension IDs that can be installed. If you leave this field empty or type an astrisk (*), users can install any extensions.

In the Chrome app store, users can add only items that have permitted extensions. If an extension is enabled and installed, and you remove its ID, the extension is removed from BlackBerry Access Secure Enterprise Browser. If you add the extension ID again, users must restart BlackBerry Access before they can add the item from the Chrome app store.

This setting turns on developer mode in BlackBerry Access.

Depends on: Enable installation of extensions

Advanced

Setting

Supported OS

Description

Advanced Policies - Managed

Windows

This setting allows you to create a JSON file and apply policies directly to the browser. The specified settings are enforced on the browser. This setting takes precedence over policies configured on the other app configuration tabs. BlackBerry recommends that you remove settings from this field and use the settings on the appropriate tabs to configure policies for your environment. If you configure the settings on this tab and on other tabs, the browser might not function as expected.

Advanced Policies - Recommended

Windows

This setting provides the same settings as "Advanced Policies - Managed," but allows users to override the specified settings.
