Create a BlackBerry Pushcast Software user

The BlackBerry® Pushcast™ Software creates a temporary password for each new BlackBerry Pushcast Software user. The user receives a temporary password in a notification email message. After the BlackBerry Pushcast Software authenticates the temporary password, the user must select a new password to access the BlackBerry Pushcast Software.

  1. In the BlackBerry Pushcast Console, click Users.
  2. Click Create User.
  3. In the Basic section, in the First name field, type the user's first name.
  4. In the Last name field, type the user's last name.
  5. In the E-mail field, type the user's email address.
  6. In the Preferred language list, select the language that the user communicates in.
  7. In the Credentials section, in the Username field, type a unique user name.
  8. In the Enter New Password field, type a password for the user. The password must contain between 6 and 12 alphanumeric characters, one uppercase character, and one number and must not contain the first or last name of the user.
  9. In the Confirm New Password field, type the password again.
  10. To assign roles to the user, in the Roles section, in the Available field, select one or more roles that you want to assign to the user.
  11. Click the left arrow icon.
  12. To assign groups to the user, in the Groups section, in the Available field, select one or more groups that you want to assign to the user.
  13. Click the left arrow icon.
  14. To prevent the user from changing how you send content to the user, in the Delivery section, select the Disabled for end user modification check box.
  15. In the Delivery to section, select a delivery option.
  16. To use the BlackBerry Pushcast Software to send the notification email message to the user, in the Notifications section, in the Notification Options section, select the check box beside a notification.
  17. To prevent a user from changing the notification setting, select the Disabled for end user notification check box.
  18. In the Mobile Device section, in the Device Type list, select None or BlackBerry.
  19. Click Save.
