Running an application

Before you can run an application that features ads on a BlackBerry device, you must sign the application using code signing keys that you receive from Research In Motion. After you sign an application, you can load it onto a device by using the Javaloader tool or BlackBerry Desktop Software. To run an application in the BlackBerry Smartphone Simulator, you don't need to sign the application.

For information about obtaining and installing code signing keys, see the BlackBerry Java SDK Security Development Guide at www.blackberry.com/go/devguides.

For information about packaging, testing, and debugging applications see the BlackBerry Java Plug-in for Eclipse Development Guide at www.blackberry.com/go/devdocs.
