The Chalk™ Pushcast™ Software uses the security functionality of the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server to protect content. If a BlackBerry device is lost or stolen, the BlackBerry device protects the content that is stored on the BlackBerry device by permitting only the authorized Chalk Pushcast Software user to access the BlackBerry device.

When a Chalk Pushcast Software user turns content protection on, the BlackBerry device uses a 256-bit AES encryption algorithm to protect content. The BlackBerry device also uses a private key to encrypt data that is stored on the BlackBerry device. When a Chalk Pushcast Software user locks a BlackBerry device, the BlackBerry device uses an ECC public key to encrypt the data that it receives. For extra content protection, a Chalk Pushcast Software user can configure a BlackBerry device password.

When a Chalk Pushcast Software user accesses data, the BlackBerry device decrypts the data so that the Chalk Pushcast Software user can view it.
