Development environment

One of the following development environments:

• BlackBerry® Java® Plug-in for Eclipse® 1.1 or later with the BlackBerry® Java® SDK 4.5 or later.

  To download for Windows® XP, Windows Vista®, or Windows® 7, visit na.blackberry.com/developers/javaappdev/javaplugin.jsp. To download for Mac OS, visit na.blackberry.com/developers/javaappdev/macosx.jsp.

• BlackBerry® Java® Development Environment 4.5 or later with the BlackBerry® Email and MDS Services Simulator Package 4.1.2 or later.

  This development environment is available only on Windows XP and Windows Vista. To download the development environment, visit na.blackberry.com/developers/javaappdev/javadevenv.jsp.

BlackBerry Smartphone Simulator or BlackBerry device

Any BlackBerry Smartphone Simulator or BlackBerry device that is running BlackBerry® Device Software 4.5 or later.

For releases of the BlackBerry Java Development Environment earlier than 5.0, you must download the simulators separately. To download the simulators, visit na.blackberry.com/developers/javaappdev/devtools.jsp.
