Reporting

In the developer portal for the Advertising Service, on the Reports tab, you can create reports that describe the performance of ads in your applications from multiple perspectives.

For a high-level view, you can view charts that describe the performance of the ad networks that your applications use. You can view your overall earnings, as well as comparisons between the number of impressions and the CTRs for different ad networks. For a more granular view, you can create reports based on targets such as application and geography. Within these reports, you can view detailed performance statistics for your specified targets. For example, you can see which of the ad networks that your application uses are providing the most views and clicks, and when traffic is the highest.

You can save reports to view them at a later time, and download them in a .csv file. You can view saved reports by clicking Manage Reports on the Reports tab. You can also save reports as quick reports, and view them on the Dashboard tab.

Note: There might be a delay of up to 72 hours before performance statistics are reflected in reports that you create.

View an overview report

  1. In the developer portal for the Advertising Service, in the upper pane, click Reports.
  2. In the lower pane, click Overview.
  3. In the Report Type section, click the type of report that you want to view.
  4. In the Begin and End drop-down lists, select the beginning and end of the time period that you want reported on.
  5. In the Metrics drop-down list, click the performance metric that you want to view.

Create a report

  1. In the developer portal for the Advertising Service, in the upper pane, click Reports.
  2. In the lower pane, click Create Report.
  3. Drag a reporting target from the left side of the screen and place it in the Primary Grouping section.

    A dialog box appears that allows you to specify properties of the reporting target that you selected. For example, if you select Application as your primary reporting target, this dialog box allows you to select the applications that you want to include in the report.
  4. In the dialog box, specify the properties of the reporting target and click Save.
  5. If you want to include a secondary reporting target in your report, drag another reporting target from the left side of the screen and place it in the Secondary Grouping section.
  6. Click Go. The report for your reporting targets is displayed.
  7. To customize the information that is displayed in the report, perform any of the following actions:
    • To change the report type, click an option in the Report Type section.
    • To change the type of chart that is displayed, click an option in the Chart type drop-down list.
    • To change the date range of the report, click an option in the Date drop-down list or specify a date range by using the Begin and End fields.
  8. To save the report to view at a later time, perform any of the following actions:
    • In the Name field, type a name for the report and click Save.
    • Click Download CSV.
    • Select the Save as quick report check box and click Save.
