Localizing applications

You can use the BlackBerry® Administration API to create localized applications in any regional language that is supported by the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server. You can change the locale by specifying the locale attribute in the object instance. To view the locales that are available on your BlackBerry Enterprise Server, you can use the FindLocales() API.

Not all data is localizable. Most user-defined data, such as user account names, group names, and software configuration names are not localized. However, even though friendly names and friendly descriptions in the BlackBerry Administration Service are user-defined, they are specific to the locale of the user who types the value. The BlackBerry Administration API can return friendly names and friendly descriptions as localized strings only if the values are specified in the BlackBerry Administration Service in the requested locale.

The API reference and supporting documentation for the BlackBerry Administration API are available only in US English.
