Development environment

One of the following development environments:

• BlackBerry Java Plug-in for Eclipse 1.1 or later with the BlackBerry Java SDK 4.5 or later.

• BlackBerry Java Development Environment 4.5 or later with the BlackBerry Email and MDS Services Simulator Package 4.1.2 or later.

  This development environment is available only on Windows XP and Windows Vista. To download the development environment, visit na.blackberry.com/developers/javaappdev/javadevenv.jsp.

BlackBerry Smartphone Simulator or BlackBerry device

Any BlackBerry Smartphone Simulator or BlackBerry device that is running BlackBerry Device Software 4.5 or later.

For releases of the BlackBerry Java Development Environment earlier than 5.0, you must download the simulators separately. To download the simulators, visit http://us.blackberry.com/developers/resources/simulators.jsp.
