Setting up the sample application in the BlackBerry JDE

Install the sample application

  1. In the BlackBerry® Java® Development Environment, open the workspace that you want to add the sample application to.
  2. In workspace tree, the right-click the <workspace> icon.
  3. Click Add project to <workspace>.
  4. In the Add project to <workspace> dialog box, browse to the customcomponentsdemo folder. The default location of the folder is C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry JDE 5.0.0\samples\com\rim\samples\device\customcomponentsdemo.
  5. Click the CustomComponentsDemo.jdp file.
  6. Click Open.
  7. Repeat steps 2 to 6, but instead navigate to the screenreaderdemo folder and open the ScreenReaderDemo.jdp file.

Run the sample application

  1. In the workspace where you added the customcomponentsdemo project, right-click CustomComponentsDemo.
  2. Click Build project.
  3. On the taskbar, click Start > Applications > Research in Motion > BlackBerry JDE 5.0 > Device Simulator.
  4. On the Home screen of the BlackBerry® Smartphone Simulator, click the Downloads folder.
  5. Click the Accessibility Demo icon.
