Configure the
BlackBerry Pushcast Software
synchronization service for
BlackBerry Enterprise Server

Before you begin: Make sure that you
have the host code for the
BlackBerry® Pushcast™ Software that
you want to synchronize with the
BlackBerry® Enterprise Server.
You can find the host code at the end of the web address that you use to log in
to the
BlackBerry® Pushcast™ Console. For
example, in the following web address, rim is the host code:
https://www.example.com/rim.

Open the folder where you saved the files for the
BlackBerry Pushcast Software
synchronization service.

Double-click the
ChalkMedia.UserLoadService.ConfigurationTool.exe
file.

On the
BlackBerry® Administration Service
tab, in the
BlackBerry Administration Service
computer name field, type the FQDN of the
server that you installed the
BlackBerry Administration Service on
and the SSL port connection number. The default value for the port connection
is port 443.

In the
User name field, type the user name for the
BlackBerry Administration Service
administrator.

In the
Password field, type the password for the
BlackBerry Administration Service
administrator account.

To verify that you can connect to the
BlackBerry Enterprise Server, click
Test connection.

On the
Group selection tab, perform one of the
following tasks:

Synchronize all active user accounts on the
BlackBerry Enterprise Server with the
BlackBerry Pushcast Software.

- Select the
All users option.

| Synchronize only specific groups on the
BlackBerry Enterprise Server with the
BlackBerry Pushcast Software.

- Select the
Selected groups option.
- Click
Populate groups.
- Select the
check box beside the group that you want to synchronize with the
BlackBerry Pushcast Software.

On the
BlackBerry® Pushcast™ Software tab, in the
BlackBerry Pushcast Softwarecomputer
domain field, type the web address for the
BlackBerry Pushcast Software
that you want to synchronize with the
BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

In the
Host code field, type the host code for the
BlackBerry Pushcast Software
that you want to synchronize with the
BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

In the
User name field, type the user name for the
administrator account that has permission to access the
BlackBerry Pushcast Software.

In the
Password field, type the password for the
BlackBerry Pushcast Software
administrator account.

Select the
Permit the
BlackBerry Pushcast Softwareto
perform updates for currentBlackBerry Pushcast Software
user accounts. check box.

To verify that you can connect to the
BlackBerry Pushcast Software,
click
Test connection.

On the
BlackBerry Pushcast Softwaresynchronization
service tab, in the
Polling interval section, click the
arrow icons to specify the amount of time that
you want to schedule between each synchronization of the
BlackBerry Enterprise Server and
BlackBerry Pushcast Software.
The default value is 10 minutes.

In the
Connection retry interval section, click the
arrow icons to specify the amount of time
the BlackBerry Pushcast Software
synchronization service waits before it retries to connect to the
BlackBerry Pushcast Software.
The default value is 30 seconds.

Click
Browse and navigate to the folder where you
saved the
BlackBerry Pushcast Software
synchronization service files.

In the
Data source field, type the name of the
Microsoft® SQL
Server® that
hosts the
BlackBerry Pushcast Software
synchronization service.

In the
Initial catalogue field, type the name of the
database that you created for the
Microsoft® SQL
Server® that
hosts the
BlackBerry Pushcast Software
synchronization service.

In the
User name field, type the user name for the
administrator account that can access the database.

In the
Password field, type the password for the user
name that has permission to access the database.

To verify that you can connect the database with the
BlackBerry Pushcast Software
synchronization service, click
Test connection.

Click
Apply.
-
Click
Close.
-
When a prompt appears, click
Yes.
