How devices protect content

If a BlackBerry® device user or a BlackBerry® Enterprise Server administrator turns on content protection, the locked BlackBerry device encrypts stored user data and data that the locked device receives. If a password protected device is lost or stolen, the device protects the content that is stored on it by permitting only the authorized user to unlock and access the device.

When a BlackBerry® Pushcast™ Software user unlocks the device and accesses data, the device decrypts the data so that the user can view it.

For more information about content protection, see the BlackBerry Enterprise Solution Security Technical Overview.
