Encryption methods that the BlackBerry Pushcast Software uses

The BlackBerry® Pushcast™ Software performs user authentication, delivers content, and provides authoring features over HTTPS connections. If a BlackBerry device is associated with a BlackBerry® Enterprise Server and the BlackBerry Pushcast Player connection type is BlackBerry MDS Connection Service, communication between the device and the BlackBerry MDS Connection Service is protected by 256-bit AES or 56-bit Triple DES encryption.

The BlackBerry Pushcast Software and the BlackBerry Pushcast Player use Triple DES and a preshared key to encrypt sensitive information, such as user names and passwords, email addresses, and device PINs that they send to each other. The BlackBerry Pushcast Software also uses Triple DES and a preshared key to encrypt the information in email messages that it sends to the BlackBerry Pushcast Player.
