Adding a subscription app to the vendor portal for BlackBerry App World

You must add the subscription app to the vendor portal for the BlackBerry App World™ storefront so that licensed channel users can purchase the content that you create. To add the subscription app, you need to use the .zip file that you received from the Chalk™ Pushcast™ Authoring Kit support team. The .zip file contains .cod files and a Readme file.

To add the subscription app to BlackBerry App World, you can use the SubscriptionApp_<HostCode>.zip file that you extracted to the computer. The SubscriptionApp_<HostCode>.zip file contain a Touch folder, NonTouch folder, and Readme file. The folders and file contain the following information:
  • The Readme file contains a list of the supported devices that do not have a touch screen and a list of supported devices that have a touch screen.
  • The Touch folder contains the .cod file that you must upload to BlackBerry App World for devices that have a touch screen.
  • The NonTouch folder contains the .cod file that you must upload to BlackBerry App World for devices that do not have a touch screen.
You must select the devices that are listed in the Readme file as supported devices when you add a subscription app to BlackBerry App World. If you do not select the supported devices when you add the subscription app to BlackBerry App World, users can see the subscription app on a device but cannot open it. You can update the list of supported devices for the subscription app in BlackBerry App World when devices are added or removed in the Readme file.

You must go to https://appworld.blackberry.com/isvportal to log in to the vendor portal using your vendor account before you can add the subscription app that you received from the Chalk support team to BlackBerry App World. To log in, you must type the email address and password that you specified when you created your membership account in the vendor portal. After you add a subscription app to the vendor portal, the next step in the process of creating a licensed channel for BlackBerry App World is to publish content to licensed channel users.
