Update the Chalk Pushcast Software

Before you begin: You must have the Chalk™ Pushcast™ Console web address, user name, and temporary password that you received in the email message from the Chalk support team to complete this task.
  1. In the email message that you received from the Chalk support team, click the link for the Chalk Pushcast Console.
  2. In the Username field, type the user name that you received in the email message.
  3. In the Password field, type the temporary password that you received in the email message.
  4. Click Sign In.
  5. In the Chalk Pushcast Console, in the top pane, click Administration.
  6. In the left pane, click Downloads.
  7. Click Chalk.Pushcast.Software.Prerequisites.zip.
  8. Save the Chalk.Pushcast.Software.Prequisites.zip file to a location on the computer.
  9. On the Chalk™ Pushcast™ server, navigate to where you extracted the Chalk™ Pushcast™ Software installation files.
  10. Double-click the cps folder.
  11. Double-click the ChalkSetup.exe file.
  12. On the Chalk™ Pushcast™ Softwaresystem verification screen, click Stop beside the web site and any Chalk services that are running.
  13. Do not stop the Microsoft® DTC.
  14. Close the Chalk™ Pushcast™ Softwaresystem verification screen.
  15. Click Back to go back to the root directory.
  16. On the computer, navigate to where you saved the Chalk.Pushcast.Software.Prequisites.zip files.
  17. Extract the Chalk.Pushcast.Software.Prequisites.zip files to a location on the computer.
  18. Double-click the Chalk.Pushcast.Software.Prequisites folder.
  19. Click the cps folder and drag it to the root directory where you extracted the Chalk Pushcast Software installation files to.
  20. When you receive a prompt, click Yes to All.
  21. On the computer, navigate to where you saved the Chalk.Pushcast.Software.Installer.zip files.
  22. Extract the Chalk.Pushcast.Software.Installer.zip files to a location on the computer.
  23. Double-click the Chalk.Pushcast.Software.Installer folder.
  24. Click the cps folder and drag it to the root directory where you extracted the Chalk Pushcast Software installation files to.
  25. When you receive a prompt, click Yes to All.
  26. Double-click the cps folder.
  27. Double-click the chalksetup.exe file.
  28. Perform one of the following tasks:

    If a check mark appears in the box beside each software component in the list, install the Chalk Pushcast Software.

    Click Next.

    If an x appears beside a software component in the list, install the required software component.

    1. Locate and install the software component on your computer.
    2. Click Refresh.
    3. Click Next.
  29. On the Chalk™ Pushcast™ Software setup information screen, click Next.
  30. On the SMTP configuration for the Chalk™ Pushcast™ Software screen, click Next.
  31. On the Chalk™ Pushcast™ Software database configuration screen, click Next.
  32. On the Report configuration for theChalk™ Pushcast™ Software screen, click Next.
  33. On the Status of theChalk™ Pushcast™ Software configuration screen, click Next.
  34. On the Chalk™ Pushcast™ Software system verification screen, perform one of the following actions:

    Task

    Steps

    If a check mark appears in the circle beside each software component in the list, upgrade the Chalk Pushcast Software.

    Click Finish.

    If an x appears beside a Chalk Pushcast Software component in the list, restart the required software component.

    1. Click Restart.
    2. Click Finish.
